3. For what purposes and on what legal basis is your personal data processed?

Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Saxon Data Protection Implementation Act and all other relevant data protection regulations. This data is collected in order to identify you for postal voting at West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, to facilitate the postal voting process and for correspondence. Data processing takes place upon your submission and is necessary for the processing of your submission for the stated purposes in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.

4. Who receives your data?

We share your personal data with the individuals and departments within WHZ who are responsible for carrying out the specific task.

5. What data is collected and how long is your data stored?

 The following information is collected upon registration: title, first name, surname, email address, street, house number, postcode, town/city, faculty, additional address details

We process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil our contractual and legal obligations. Once the data is no longer required to fulfil contractual or legal obligations, it is regularly deleted.

6. What rights can you exercise as a data subject?

  • the rights to rectification,
  • to erasure and
  • to restriction of processing (Articles 16 to 18 of the GDPR)
  • the right to data portability (Article 20 of the GDPR)
  • the right to object (Article 21 of the GDPR)

Reference is made to the restrictions imposed by the state legislature in Sections 7 and 9 of the Saxon Data Protection Act (SächsDSDG) pursuant to Article 23 of the GDPR.
