Library Catalog
Our library catalog covers the entire HSB collection, including all printed and electronic resources as well as selected open-access material. Every title listed here is fully citable and reliable for your academic research.
Looking for material outside our collection? Use the Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog (KVK) to search other German and international libraries. If you find what you need, you can easily request it via interlibrary loan (ILL) and have it delivered straight to the HSB.
Standards & Patents
DIN and VDI Standards: You can access all current standards online via the Nautos database. University members are welcome to download these for research and teaching purposes. Please note that VDE standards can only be viewed on the designated workstation in the Main Library; saving or printing them is not permitted. For additional resources, visit the German Institute for Standardization (DIN).
Patents: To search patents, utility models, and trademarks worldwide, use the DEPATISnet database provided by the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). For further guidance, check the German Chamber of Patent Attorneys or the Patent Information Center at TU Chemnitz.
Electronic Resources
To access electronic resources such as e-books or e-journals, please connect to the campus network. You can do this either via the WHZ Wi-Fi on campus or from home using a VPN connection (select the "FullTunnel" group). Once connected, you can download and save these materials with no time limits; however, sharing them with third parties is strictly prohibited.
Library guests only have remote access to license-free open-access material, which can be filtered within the catalog. On our on-site research workstations, licensed resources are available in read-only mode but cannot be saved or downloaded.
