Interlibrary Loan
Through our interlibrary loan service, you can order literature from other libraries across Germany, provided that the item is not available in the HSB collection or at any other library in Zwickau.
Ordering Process
You can search for the literature you need and order it directly through the interlibrary loan portal. Please log in using your library card number and password.
Library guests: You must set up a personal password in advance; otherwise, you will not be able to log in to the portal.
Delivery
As soon as your requested item arrives at your preferred branch library, you will receive an email notification. Depending on availability, delivery can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
Please note: Interlibrary loan materials can generally be borrowed for a maximum of 4 weeks and are usually non-renewable.
Fees
A processing fee of €1.50 is charged for every interlibrary loan request. Please note that additional fees may apply for copy requests (e.g., journal articles) exceeding 20 pages.
Restrictions: Items Excluded from Interlibrary Loan
The following materials cannot be requested via interlibrary loan:
- E-books
- Reference collections of other universities (e.g., student theses/dissertations)
- Holdings belonging to the Zwickau City Library (Stadtbibliothek) or the Ratsschulbibliothek Zwickau

Alternatives: Document Delivery Services
Document delivery services offer a fast alternative to traditional interlibrary loans. You can order directly from the provider, and materials will be delivered to your address of choice (via email, mail, or fax). Fees vary depending on the delivery method and speed (standard vs. express service).
