Second/Third examination attempts

Examinations can be repeated twice after failure. If a module examination consists of several assessment components, only the component that has not been passed needs to be retaken (as long as the module has not been passed).

On the Sign Language Interpreting degree programme, all components of an examination must be passed to pass the module as a whole.

The second examination attempt must be taken within a year; otherwise, it will be regarded as a failure again.

In the third examination attempt can only be taken part in upon application. Students will receive this application form by post, together with notification that they have failed the first examination attempt (notification of the examination result). The application for a third examination attempt must be submitted to the Student Affairs Department (Examinations Office) within one month of receiving the above-mentioned letter.

Once the application has been approved, the examination must be taken at the next available examination date.
