Accidents during the course of studies

Students of WHZ are legally covered by accident insurance in the Free State of Saxony for all accidents that occur in direct connection with their studies. This also applies to accidents on the way to and from the place of study as well as to events of university sports. After the accident has occurred, a doctor should be consulted as soon as possible. In addition, the WHZ student secretariat should be informed about the accident within three days (if possible).

Leisure Accidents

The Student Union Chemnitz-Zwickau has taken out a leisure accident insurance for all students of the WHZ. This means that students are also insured during leisure activities (outside the WHZ), internships and exam preparation activities outside the university, as well as when working in a profession or trade – also as a student employee. However, only the consequences of the accident are insured. In the event of an accident, a doctor should be consulted and the social counselling service of the Student Union should be informed immediately.
